POW Sniper Glove 2014 - 2010 Review by The Good Ride

The Pow Sniper GTX Glove has been owned on and off for many years by riders at The Good Ride. We used this before and after it was christened with a Gore-Tex lining. It’s a nice light somewhat thin glove that makes for a good all-around glove for those who need excellent waterproofing and mid-level warmth. Pow does a lot of things right. First, they really take good care of most of their liners so they don’t pull out or get twisted when you pull your fingers out. They are generally well made too.

Ethics Statement: We don’t get paid by the manufacturer to write these reviews.  No one is perfect and we do make money from the “Where To Buy” links below, but this is our best attempt at an honest and objective review from an average riders’ perspective.

Size Tried: Medium
James’ Specs
Width Across The Knuckles: 3.5”
Middle Finger to Wrist 7.5”
Widest Part of the Hand 4.5”

Fit: One thing about Pow is some of their gloves in the line have sizing inconsistencies.  For example, most pow Gloves fit me almost perfect in a size M where the Sniper’s size Large feels like the other gloves in Medium. This is specifically regarding the 2014 model. For most of the Stealth Gloves, my 3.5-3.75 Inch wide x 7 inch from middle finger to the wrist is best with a medium but the Pow Sniper is best with a Large as it runs a little smaller.

Feel: The older models from a few years back from 2014 had rubber palms and thinner neoprene like insulation in the glove to where it felt more like a pipe glove that came with liners. 2014 has, I think, a faux leather palm and a little more insulation.  It feels like it has a better fit around the hands and has better dexterity than the older models.  Also, the faux leather doesn’t feel like it’s cow leather but has a similar supple softer feel to POW’s high-end goat leather. The extra warmth is great too and you still have the extra liners if you need it. It’s a nice improvement over the old Sniper and definitely the call.
