Positives

  • Reasonable Price
  • Easy to Recline
  • Easy to Sit Back Up

Negatives

  • Seat Area Tilts Up Too Much

Summary

The GCI Outdoor Freeform Zero Gravity Lounger has a pretty sharp angle from the back rest to the seat but other than that it's a great semi-portable recliner for campers.

How It Sits And Who It Is For

How This Review Happened: Precious Good Ride dollars were spent to buy this and review it.

Construction/Features

This lounger is very well made and if you treat this well I don’t see any long term reliability issues. You have 3 main modes. Chair mode, chair mode with the feet up and full recliner mode but you can use the locking mechanism to recline at any angle you want. You cannot recline the back rest and keep the foot rest down.

Seat Angle

My one complaint about the GCI Outdoor Freeform Zero Gravity Lounger is the seat angle. It is too acute so if I sit in chair mode my hips and back start to get sore. The further I recline the less pain I feel but I would like it designed so the hips are not soo much lower than my knees. Overall, it’s a pretty comfortable chair when you recline it a little bit or a lot.

Portablity

GCI Freeform Zero Gravity Lounger-Portability

This is not very portable in comparison to many camp chairs so you need room in your car/van/truck to bring it. I can fit almost 4 Nemo Stargazers in the place of one of these but they are a little more than twice the price. I can fit 2 GCI Comfort Pro Chairs in the same space but those don’t recline.

Conclusion

So for me this is a chair I bring when I’m not going with the family and I have the space in my Outback.
