The Demon Force X D3O Short is made for snowboarders and you can tell by the design. Demon Force’s upper body armor is not quite the best and they often offer low-cost protection with cheaper padding. Now their short is a little better because there is a nice large D3O triangle that covers the butt and then like all Demon Force armor there is some light foam padding that helps but doesn’t completely protect.  So for the price, this isn’t bad and you do get D3O on the tail bone. They just used most of the money on the D30.  So it’s pretty recommendable if you want some low profile low-cost padding.
