Weight: 6 ounces

Taste: I enjoyed the flavor of the Lentils and Rice meal. It has a little sweetness from the mango and apples in it. I like that it comes with lentils and black beans together for the protein. For me, it was too spicy and I wish it had an indicator on the front to tell me that. If you like spice, you might like the Himalayan Lentils and Rice. If you are like me and don’t enjoy a lot of spice in your food, then you might want to pass on this one. The flavor was good, but it wasn’t strong.

Re-hydrate Time: I re-hydrated this at just under 10,000 ft. So I let it sit for 15min. Everything was hydrated well, except for a few lentils that were still a little hard.

Overall

If you are looking for a semi-spicy vegetarian and gluten free backcountry meal, you might like this one. It is also a great buy for the price. $6.50 for two servings of dehydrated food is pretty good compared to other 2 serving meals out there.
