The Flux GM30 was designed to fit the widest scope of riders and board styles but it’s mainly at home with the all mountain rider.

The 2013 Flux GM30 has a nice upgrade with the high back and a better footbed (check the vid below) but every year is well made. Regardless of the year, every girl who tried this binding liked it.  This is a great binding for the price range but I think Flux would do well to offer a higher end binding as well as they have with the Mens bindings.

Flex: Pretty stiff but the response is smoother than you would think for flex of this type.

Adjustability: After you screw in the discs you don’t need a tool to adjust this binding  This is how every binding should be and it’s very easy to dial this out.

Comfort: Very comfortable straps and design to keep most riders free of pressure points.

Heel-Toe Response: There is a good response here.  It’s not sharp but smooth and handles most women’s boards without a problem.  If you are riding men’s boards then you might want to consider riding men’s bindings too if you can fit in them. They will handle the more difficult to turn men’s boards better.

Tip-Tail Response: Not much going on here.  The whole binding underfoot has pretty solid contact with the board so there is a dead spot. Still, there isn’t bad leverage with the ankle strap and supportive binding for getting a board to butter.

Boot Support: Very supportive. You get a very firm feeling and the ankle strap fits like no other binding. You wouldn’t think that moving them a few milliliters to mount on the inside of the heel loop would make that much of a difference but it does.

Ratchet System: It’s a very smooth ratchet system that locks in your straps well and rarely sticks when you undo them.

Shock Absorption: Our biggest complaint is they have very little shock absorption in the full fiberglass/plastic plate across the bottom and a little bit of dense foam on top of it.  They should at least remove the fiberglass from the heel and have padding all the way to the board as many companies do. There is some urethane on the bottom which helps but it’s not ideal.
