The Good Ride 2026 All-Mountain Favorite Snowboards

Welcome to the celebration of snowboard gear polyamory that is The Good Ride. I’m James Biesty, Chief Snowboard Gear Polyamourist at The Good Ride, and it’s time to do another 2026 All Mountain Favorites List.

So, Who The Hell Am I, And Why Should You Trust This Favorite All-Mountain Snowboards List?

James-Biesty-Editor
James-Biesty-Editor

Well, I’ve been reviewing snowboards part-time since 2006 and full-time since 2010. I’ve ridden almost 900 different model snowboards. A lot more if you count the different versions of those models over the years. I also try to extensively test each board in as many conditions as I can and do same-day comparisons with the same boots, bindings, stance width, stance angles, and same damn runs. No one else compares as extensively as I do, and most reviewers don’t even compare boards. And, yeah…I’m no ripper, but I’m consistent, do my best to adapt to the board I’m riding, and have a deep snowboard gear memory. So if you are an average rider like me, this is the list you want to see.

This Is No Pay To Play Top/Best Of/Favorite All-Mountain Snowboard List

I don’t charge the brands or require them to let me keep the boards. There are no outside influences of any kind. These boards earned their spot strictly by how they ride. These are the boards I’d love to personally own, want to use as baselines, and often recommend most.

What Is An All-Mountain Snowboard?

Snowboard Riding Styles
Snowboard Riding Styles

This is the closest to truly being a one-board quiver and most can say yes to just about anything you want to do. All Mountain Boards sit between an Mtn Freestyle and a Freeride board. You can ride these centered and switch on groomers, but unlike Mtn Freestyle Snowboards, they have a little setback on the board to give you a taste of what it’s like to be on a freeride board. If you want to learn more about the different riding styles, check The Good Ride Riding Styles Explained.

Flex: Medium Nose & Tail. Med-Stiff Between The Feet. Somewhat Easy To Butter. Very Good Pop.

Positives/Swipe Right

  • Very Damp But Not Dead With Good Pop
  • Excellent all-day ride.
  • Upper Tier Base Glide

Negatives/Swipe Left

  • Not the best Pow Float. Especially at lower angles.

Summary

Telos DST Heelside Turn

The Telos DST made this list because I love how it has so much chatter resistance without feeling dull, like so many damp boards do. This slightly tapered, directional shape favors more directional riding, but rides pretty centered on the board, so you can for sure throw it around switch. This is the board I like to have when I’m going to ride all day because it’s almost fatigue-free in the mid to late afternoon. It’s got a great turn to it, and it’s very easy to get air. There are better boards on this list for easier float in powder, but it’s not bad as a one-board quiver.

Positives/Swipe Right

  • A nice compromise between Cruising and Going Hard
  • Light and Poppy For This Mellow Camber Profile
  • Decent Directional Float For An All-Mountain Board

Negatives/Swipe Left

  • Base Is Slower Than Most

Summary

Ride Moderator Powder
Ride Moderator Powder

The Ride Moderator takes a very versatile, somewhat directional shape with all the usual Ride damping tech, but adds a very light, poppy core. It’s a brilliant combination because it doesn’t fall apart in uneven snow but still has very good pop for this mellow camber profile. On top of that, it has decent float, isn’t a bad switch, and it’s really easy to get air. I really like this multiple-radius sidecut that responds differently depending on how you weight your turns. Back foot weight gives a tighter radius, center weight is pretty balanced, and front foot is more down the line. I found this more fun than the Deep Fake because it’s fun to ride in a chill or full-throttle mood, whereas the Deep Fake only shines at full throttle.

  • Practically Perfect Switch

  • Excellent Construction / Durability

Negatives/Swipe Left

  • Not Much…Wish It Had A Little More Camber like the Proto Ultra

Summary

Never Summer Proto Type 3 Pop
Never Summer Proto Type 3 Pop

The Never Summer Proto Type 3 is exceptional in hard snow but so much more than a hard-snow All-Mountain favorite. If you want a true twin for park to mtn freestyle riding but also want to have the option to set it back in powder and get easier directional float, this is your board. The Grip is exceptional, but even better, it doesn’t grab in soft snow like many grippy boards do. I just wish it had the same augmented, yet forgiving, camber profile of the Proto T3 Ultra, but with this softer flex and narrower width. Other than that, there are almost zero complaints, and this is one of the most versatile and durable boards on this list for sure.

If you want to step it up and get a harder carver, or you’re more of a mid-wide footed rider, the Proto Ultra could be a great fit. Definitely worth an honorable mention.

Negatives/Swipe Left

  • Base Is Slower Than Most
  • Not The Best Float
  • A little cranky in hard, uneven snow

Summary

K2 Commonwealth -turn
K2 Commonwealth -turn

The K2 Commonwealth is the board you want if you like old-school full-on camber without any lifted sides or modern camber tweaks. It’s pretty centered on the board for a tapered directional shape. This is great for those who love getting air and want that extra landing gear in the tail. But it’s not good to set it back to get an easy directional float. The base is slow, but at least it has good wax retention. This made the list because of the spring you get out of an ollie and out of a turn. I couldn’t get enough of this turning experience, and this was the board I often took out for some personal time when I was done testing and comparing.

Positives/Swipe Right

  • Less Bucky than most Capita Boards
  • Fast Base
  • Improved setback on board in powder
  • Pretty forgiving.
  • Great pop and flex personality for such a mellow camber

Negatives/Swipe Left:

  • Not the Best in hard-to-icy snow.
  • Base Has Too Much Structure.
  • Still Bucks More than I would like in soft uneven snow

Summary

Capita BSOD Pop
Capita BSOD Pop

The Capita Black Snowboard Of Death has always been a pretty recommendable board, but since 2024, the addition of an extra setback on the board at a narrower stance has made this a much more recommendable ride and bumped it into the favorites list. This is a very well-rounded ride that can do a little of everything. For 2026, it’s a little less damp because they now have a normal top sheet instead of the damper faux wood top sheet. And while it won’t be as good in soft uneven snow as it used to be. This isn’t the hardest carver on the list, but it’s truly a very well-rounded board with a fast base, good float for an all-mtn board, and solid pop for not having much camber. It’s a board I love to have in my quiver.

Negatives/Swipe Left

  • Pretty Technical / Unforgiving

Summary

Nitro Alternator in some pow
Nitro Alternator in some pow

The Nitro Alternator isn’t the kind of board I like to be on when I’m in a chill / cruisy mood, but man, it’s a fun board to turn, has very good float for a full camber board, and it pops a lot easier than you would think for being so catchy. I love turning and getting air with the Alternator, and I also love that it floats in powder very well for an mtn board and handles uneven snow really well. This is on the list for the old-school camber lover who wants something a little more setback and easier to float than the K2 Commonwealth, but still wants a more centered feel than most freeride boards.

Negatives/Swipe Left:

  • Pretty Technical/Catchy
  • The base is on the slower side

Summary

Lib Tech Dynamo Turning
Lib Tech Dynamo Turning

The Lib Tech Dynamo is pretty technical/catchy and doesn’t have the best base, but it’s got a very drivey, fun-to-turn old school camber feel with a ton of grip. This is a very good old-school full-camber, directional alternative to the Never Summer Proto Type 3 for those who don’t ride switch as much but love to carve and get air in all conditions. This isn’t ideal for those chill modes, but man, is it fun when you are in the mood to push it. Especially on hard snow days. It’s not bad in pow for full camber either.

Positives/Swipe Right:

  • Solid Grip
  • Fast Base
  • Good Directional & Centered Float
  • Very Consistent feel in most conditions

Negatives/Swipe Left:

  • Bucky in Soft Uneven Snow.
  • Wish it had the Pro Carbon Topsheet

Summary

Cardiff Crane Switch
Cardiff Crane Switch

The Cardiff Crane is a really fun ride, and it got an overhaul this year. It’s got a new damper core, A slightly tweaked side cut, and an overall narrower width. That being said, it still has a lot of that very versatile Crane Personality that has an almost twin feel on reference, but with a little bit of a freeride feel when set back. Overall, I really like the changes, and I think it’s a great upgrade from 2025

If you want something a little softer / more playful, turny tapered, somewhat surfy twin vibe, with a little better float, check out the Lynx. It was a favorite in the past, and I still recommend it a lot.

United Shapes Horizon Camber
United Shapes Horizon Camber

Flex: Medium / Semi-Easy To Butter / Easy and Good Pop

Positives/Swipe Right:

  • Incredible Directional Float for an all-mountain board/best on this list.
  • Nice pop.
  • Very good switch for being tapered
  • Feels like you have 2 boards

Negatives/Swipe Left:

  • Need Full Size Discs to get that float
  • The base is a little soft and thirsty

Summary

United Shapes Horizon Powder
United Shapes Horizon Powder

The United Shapes Horizon got a new top sheet, possibly a faster base, and a new nose with more surface area, giving it a more directional feel but little more float. The overall ride between the feet and the camber profile is almost exactly the same, but I like the chanes for 2026 better. It might not have the best grip in hard snow, but it made this list because it’s so versatile that it almost feels like you are buying 2 boards rather than any all-mountain board I’ve tried. The setback on board is more than most freeride boards. But if you set it up on reference stance, it feels almost like a directional twin with solid pop.

  • Good Grip
  • Good Pow Set Back
  • Great base for the price
  • Forgiving, easy to butter
  • Good in uneven snow for its flex
  • very fun switch or in the park

Negatives/Swipe Left

  • Not As Much Float As Some Rides

Summary

Jones Rally Cat Switch
Jones Rally Cat Switch

The Jones Rally Cat is a great low-cost solution for riders into boards like the Never Summer Proto Type Three and Cardiff Crane, but are on a budget. You still get a pretty fast base, solid pop, competent grip, and a very consistent feel underfoot in all conditions. When set all the way back, it’s not bad in powder either. It’s a really well-rounded, do anything, fun to butter, fun to ollie kind of ride for those that want to try everything in the park but also have a competent board for the mountain with some setback, so it’s not a cartwheeler in pow.

  • Very good setback directional float for an all-mountain board.
  • Damp in soft, uneven snow.
  • Good at high speeds.

Negatives/Swipe Left

  • A touch on the heavy side
  • A bit cranky in hard, uneven snow

Summary

Korua Otto Turning
Korua Otto Turning

The Korua Otto Classic is reasonably priced but isn’t a budget board by any means. In fact, it outshines many boards in a higher price point. What I love about the Otto is the special carving experience, pop on an ollie, stability at speed, and it’s almost Freeride-like float in powder when set all the way back. I personally own this in 157, and it’s one of my favorite boards to go out on clean groomers and make the best turns I can. This is an exceptional choice for normal-boot-size riders, like me, who want a hard carver, or for those who want a great-fitting, easy-turning mid-wide as a daily driver.

The 2026 Otto has 2 options now: a brushed top sheet and the original classic top sheet. The brush top sheet is the same as the plus top sheets, so it’s gonna feel a little lighter, maybe a little less damp, but have a little easier flex and maybe a little more pop.

Negatives/Swipe Left

  • Catchy

  • Slower Base, but average for the price
  • Can Feel Grabby in soft snow

Summary

Gnu Antigravity Turning
Gnu Antigravity Turning

The Gnu Antigravity is a softer, rounded-nose version of the Dynamo, and while it’s full camber, it can be catchy; it’s a lot easier to turn at slower speeds, and doesn’t need all-out riding all the time. In same day comparisons I felt this gripped even better than the Dynamo in hard snow but it’s not bad for full camber in pow either. I wish it had the Lib Rig Camber Profile with a little early rise to make it less catchy and easier for intermediates, and a faster base. That being said, this is an excellent hard-snow choice for those who want stability and grip, but it’s also easy to butter with great pop at a reasonable price.

Conlcusion

So there you have The Good Ride’s 2026 All Mountain Favorites List, and I hope this best-of/top/favorites list helps you all. If your favorite board isn’t here, it’s not a thing to be mad about. It could still be your favorite as there are all kinds of riders with all kinds of needs. This is my best effort to collect the boards that shone in their own ways in this category.
