What I think both Peter and I liked about this jacket is the fit as you can see Peter even had a girl come up to him as we were filming but such is the day in the life of Peter. It’s also got enough waterproofing to deal with some wet snow.  The insulation is on the border between light and medium and it’s pretty warm.  60g throughout the jacket (except for the 40g hood) is pretty warm which is great for when winter is in full swing. It’s great for those that ride in cool to cold conditions so they can layer up a little when it gets really cold and not need too much layering when it’s just cool. It’s not as warm as a puffy but it’s got that nice in between a shell and a puffy warmth.   It’s also cheap enough to buy a spring jacket.   I run a little warm so for me this is more for colder days.

Now the weakest point is the breathability of this jacket.  10k waterproofing is about the average these days for jackets in this price range but 5k breathability is on the lower side.  It would be better to see 10k for breathability too but there is a lot of insulation for moisture to get through.

It’s got a lot of pockets and it also has a hood that contours around your goggles so there are no places on your face exposed to the elements.

So all in all this is one of those jackets for those that usually plan trips mid winter or those that need an affordable but warm jacket for colder days.
