How This Review Happened:  We borrowed this for an extended demo and then returned it.

Conditions: Some powder in Utah at the demo and then some good spring conditions during our extended demo.

Set-Up: Around 21”, 20.5” and 20” Wide. 27 front +6 back 36 front +12 back. Close to Reference

Approximate Weight: Feels pretty light.

Sizing: This is such a short and pretty wide board but I felt too heavy for it. It was better for Grant but both of us felt this to be small for our weight. Even with a 27cm waist. It seems better for a lighter rider and it’s not really ideal for bigger boots either.

Flex/Buttering: A medium-soft flex that is incredibly easy to butter. It has some energy and snaps back to it. The Moss C3 is a light and very poppy ride.

On Snow Feel/Ability Level/Skidded Turns: The Moss C3 we had seemed to have more rocker in the tail than the nose. There seems to be a very mellow camber (almost flat) starting after the rear inserts that go past the front inserts that transition to some early rise. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered this kind of camber profile. In powder, you could lean back on the tail and really get this surfy feel. It felt very natural and easy like we have ridden it before. On groomers, it was a little more tricky to get to know. We preferred more front foot pressure over the camber to make it track well and turn well. When we leaned back on the tail on groomers it felt pretty loose and washy. After a few hours, we were starting to get to know it though.

Edge Hold: Decent but not amazing edge hold. Pretty good for its size though.

Turn Initiation: The Moss C3 is a wide but little and slashy quick ride. It is very fast edge to edge. It pairs up well with a softer easier turning binding and the Union Atlas and Strata’s were too much for this board.

Turning Experience/Carving: So the turning experience was super different. The more you leaned back on the tail the more the Moss C3 felt like a loose slashy rocker board. The more forward weight over the camber the more it railed a run. When leaning back on the tail you could feel the three channels a bit but it was a little more subtle than we thought it would be. It was more prominent in softer snow though.

Powder: Riding the Moss C3 in powder brought the channels into play more and it seemed to help the back foot steering and make that tail come alive. Oh yeah…it also had a really easy float for such a small ride.

Speed: Not fast at all and doesn’t like anything more than a mellow cruising speed.

Uneven Terrain: You need to keep it slow and turn around bumps. Don’t try to power over anything with this ride. It will bounce and buck you around.

Switch: Not very doable. All that taper and set back on board makes the Moss C3 pretty lopsided.

Getting Air: There is some pop to this but it’s not really a board you want to launch off anything big. It has a light and delicate feel that doesn’t seem to like leaving the ground.

So the Moss C3 is a very unique and interesting ride that isn’t anything like any other Moss board we have tried. It’s not like any other board we tried industry-wide.
