Thea and I both really felt at home on this board right away, and had a lot of fun on it. It seemed easy to figure out, predictable, and had a hard charging personality without feeling too aggressive under foot. We really liked how easy and quick the Lib Tech Dynamiss was to turn and how smooth it felt to ride.

The Lib Tech Dynamiss could be a good choice for an intermediate to expert rider looking for a directional board to hang in any condition. It is fun on groomers, pretty easy in choppy snow, and should ride pretty well in powder too.

Flex/Buttering

Lib Tech has the Dynamiss listed as a medium-firm. And it for sure feels like it is more of a stiff flex, than a medium flex. However, it has that little reverse camber zone between the feet that allows the board to break a little in the middle. I feel like this keeps the Dynamiss feeling maneuverable even with the stiffer flex. It also seems like a true medium flex when you twist the board, and like a stiffer flex when you try to butter the board.

On Snow Feel

The Dynamiss has that positive camber feel, so you feel somewhat locked into the snow, but it is slightly less than a fully locked in board. You still get just a slight amount of play because of that very small reverse camber zone between the feet. But for the most part it has that true camber feel on snow. The contact points when unweighted come out well past the bindings. But it only felt catchy to me a few times when I found myself not paying attention, or when riding switch.

Edge Hold

It comes with Magnetic-Traction (7 bumps along the sidecut). This makes the Dynamiss very reliable in icy conditions. The stiffer flex, and amount of positive camber also helps with added edge hold.

Turn Initiation

As long as you are riding the Dynamiss at a medium to fast speed, the turn initiation is very fast. If you slow it down and try to make turns, it takes more effort. (Like through bumps, or in-between tight trees). It likes to be ridded fast and with some energy.

Turning Experience

Very fun to turn. There is so much energy in this board. And you can pressure it as hard as you want, going as fast as you want. It is very responsive and you get plenty of spring into the next turn. Again, as long as you are riding it at a faster pace, turning is awesome. If you are someone who likes to take runs a little slower, then it will feel harder to make turn. The Dynamiss seems to prefer more medium to large radius turns. And it likes to be on an edge more than make skidded turns.

Steeps

I really enjoyed the Dynamiss in the steeps. It is so stable and easy to trust the edge hold. It likes to make a little bigger size turns up there, so would be good for someone who is ok with a little speed in the steeps.

Carving

So much fun to carve! It is so stable, and you have the added help of the Magne-Traction, so you can hold a line in almost all snow conditions. It loves to have a high edge angle and make some big arcing carve turns. You get a lot of spring out of the turn as well.

Speed

You can have all the speed you want with the Dynamiss. It keeps its stability while riding fast, even if you hit some uneven snow or chunder. This board preforms better at higher speeds as well.

Uneven Terrain

Does well in uneven snow. It is very damp. You could just shoot right over it and it will absorb the bumps, or you can turn through it as long as you keep the speed at at least a medium. If you slow way down to maneuver through, it will be a bit slower to make the turns.

Powder

For having so much positive camber, the Dynamiss handles deeper snow quite well. If you aren’t paying attention the nose can duck under on you. But most of the time it breaks through the snow and doesn’t cause a front flip. Only sometimes haha. The Dynamiss tended to stay just under the first layer of powder and kind of skim the top, breaking through the powder with the nose. It didn’t really float on top, just maintained its speed by breaking through the top layer.

Switch

You can ride it switch, but it does feel a little backwards. It is tapered and directional, so not the best switch rider, but it is possible in a pinch.

Jumps

The Dynamiss is fun to take off of jumps. It is super stable so landing deep is no problem. You get a ton of pop from all the camber it has as well. It would be great for medium to large jumps where you need that extra stability. It is not ideal for learning park tricks on, if you are spinning and come up short, it will probably punish you. But if you already have a good freestyle background it could be fun.

Jibbing

Not a great jib board. It is on the stiffer side, and it doesn’t like to turn at slower speeds.

Pipe

I haven’t tried it in a pipe yet, but I think it is going to be a lot of fun. The edge hold is great, so it won’t slip out on the icy pipe walls. And it is very stable and has a ton of pop. Again, not for learning pipe. But probably a lot of fun if you already have some pipe background.

Overall

The Lib Tech Dynamiss is a very fun free-ride board with all mountain tendencies. It preforms really well in most conditions (minus slow speeds and tight turning situations). This board loves to go fast, charge hard, and make carve turns. It would probably be best for a high intermediate to expert rider.

Paige’s Perspective

The Lib Tech Dynamiss is an aggressive all-mountain freeride snowboard that packs a playful punch. This board inspired me to ride fast, slash turns, and charge steeps. This board is confidence inspiring in tough terrain – whether it is icy, steep, or a combination of the two, the Dynamiss digs in and holds its edge through any terrain.

The Dynamiss is a directional board with a slight taper from the nose through the tail. The board rocks the C3 camber profile – a traditional camber profile with a twist of a mild reverse camber in between the feet. This is a very lively board with lots of energy underfoot. The medium flex paired with the C3 construction allow for this board to feel extremely stable while also still having some play in it.

The edge-to-edge change on this board is extremely quick and responsive if you ride this board at medium-to-fast speeds. The camber at the tip of the board allows for easy initiation of turns. It holds power through turns and allows you to stay dynamic leading into your next slash. The Dynamiss changes if you slow things down, becoming harder to maneuver and execute tight turns. The board can feel boggy and hard to whip the tail around at sluggish speeds.

On steep terrain this board is very trustworthy. The Magne-Traction holds its edge through icy conditions, allowing you to stick to your line even if conditions aren’t ideal. When charging on the Dynamiss you feel locked-in and secure, while still being able to turn on a dime.

Off-piste this board cuts through chop and chunder, while staying on top of deeper snow. Because this doesn’t preform as well at slow speeds, I wouldn’t take it into super tight trees.

The Lib Tech Dynamiss is well suited for an aggressive intermediate-to-advanced rider, as it preforms best while ridden at fast speeds. This board comes with some attitude and is looking to charge. If you seek serious power and punch in a board, this is a great choice for you.
