Summary

The Alloy D.O. Carbon is a unique super aggressive ride that doesn't match up well with our area of expertise but we try this super cambered beast every year anyway. It's just too hard to pass up riding a super aggressive Boarder X/Carver like this. If you race or want all the camber you can possibly get out of a board then this could be for you.

Alloy D.O Carbon Past Reviews

The Alloy D.O Carbon is an even stiffer meaner version of the D.O BC and DO 7X.  It’s not the kind of board I/we usually ride and it’s a lot of board to handle.  It’s hard to rate a board like this and it’s not something similar to anything else I ride in the season.  If you ride this kind of board you will probably know if it’s right for you or now.  Of the three of these, I tried my personal favorite was the full camber version called the DO BC.  I loved the way that turned and it felt like it had more of a natural turning radius to it where the D.O Carbon felt like it had a turning radius that would change when the passive rocker in the middle would come in contact with the snow. Conversely, it felt like it had a more powerful/stable straight line which I didn’t think was possible. Riding a board like this is definitely a humbling experience.

Fun, aggressive carver

The review is pretty accurate. I usually ride hardboots but this is my softboot carver.

I agree, if you know what you want and you know this style then it's awesome. If you don't then it's not for you.

My take: it's catchy and unforgiving but once you get on it and own it it's absolutely phenomenal. It's energetic and responsive. In order to get it quickly across you have to aggressively press it into a turn. When you do it bounces you out of that turn with so much energy and speed that the only way to describe it is intoxicating. You just want more!

I did try to ride it in powder. Once. Never again.

As for flex, it's pretty stiff but I'm also kinda heavy at 180 lbs. I ride a women's size 10 boots and 27/18 angles. I think that the 161 is perfect for my weight. Again, you really have to be aggressive with it and not timid.

Love it! (but then again, I'm weird)
