Fit: The Chest and shoulders fit me really well and with a little layering underneath it will fit perfectly. With all size Larges, the sleeves are a little long for me but if I size down to medium the chest can get tight. My arms are best in a size medium, my torso in a Large and my chest in an XL or L. Wish they made Jackets in an XL Short like they do wetsuits but I digress. The stretch material is pretty subtle but it does give a bit when stretched hard.

Construction

Excellent construction and that is expected and on top of that it comes with a lifetime warranty so Burton should repair any seems if they ever come apart.

Hood

Normally I’m not into the articulating hood thing but I’ve been wearing soo many face masks lately that I’ve been ok with Articulating hoods. It’s better when the hood is down and you are hiking but not better when you are riding up a chair and want to seal off all of your face. The two corners get exposed.

Insulation/Warmth

There isn’t any to speak of but it does exceptionally block wind and rain so what we have seen is it makes the insulating layer below work better.

Waterproofing

With 3L Gore-Tex, it’s done well and so far it’s been really hard to get this wet.

Breathability

I have been pretty active with this on some days and this breathes pretty well.

Packability

There Seems like soo much jacket happening with all the interior/exterior pockets, storm skirt etc that it seems like a thicker jacket but when you fold it up it’s incredibly packable and thin.

Overall

I’m very curious to see if it’s even noticeable when comparing this Burton AK Gore-Tex 3L Stretch Hover Jacket against my Gore-Tex Pro pants to see if I notice a difference so more review to come.
