2020

Snowboarding was never about conformity. The Jones Mountain Twin Snowboard is for the rider that doesn’t want to be forced into one type of riding just because it’s the flavor of the month. Its responsive personality with a twin flex pattern is perfect for playful riders who love to go HAM when the getting is good and also get a little silly when hanging out with a crew for the day. Jones s Traction Tech 2.0 gives the board traction in the icier stuff, because snowboarding in the real world means riding no matter the conditions. Boxes, pillows, carving, the pipe… whatever, the Jones Mountain Twin Snowboard can do it with authority.

CamRock – A unique rocker/camber flex pattern defined by evenly balanced tip and tail rocker and camber between the bindings. CamRock improves freestyle finesse by keeping your tips playful while maintaining the power and pop of camber underfoot.

Twin Flex Pattern

7 (1 Soft – 10 Stiff)

Progressive Sidecut – At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.

Blunt Nose – “How a board glides in powder, crust, corn or any snow more than an inch deep is dictated by it’s front contact point and just past it. Next time you are in soft snow watch how much snow comes over the corner of the nose near the contact point. The billowing snow coming out from behind the tip means you are plowing through it which is obviously slowing you down. By adding a blunt nose you get the float benefits of a much longer nose without the ‘snow plow’ rounded tip and it’s extra swing weight.” – Jeremy Jones

V-Core – Slightly softer in the very center of the board for improved maneuverability and stiffer from the inserts through the tip and tail for stability and pop.

FSC® Mountain Core – Dual-density full wood core with hardwood bamboo stringers for added pop and durability.

Triax Fiberglass – Multi-axis, stitched fiberglass laminate that offers a precise and responsive ride in any terrain or snow conditions.

Recycled ABS – ABS plastic is one of the necessary evils of snowboard production. Jones improves the sustainability of their snowboards by using only recycled plastic.

Sintered 7000 Base – Durable natural base material with added carbon for speed and good wax absorbency.

Oversized Recycled Edges – All Jones boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges for added durability and improved production sustainability.

Traction Tech 2.0 – Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Traction Tech improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board.

Eco-Plastic Topsheet – Bio-plastic topsheet made from Castor beans. This eco-material is ultralight, chip/scratch resistant and water/snow repellent (snow sticks less to topsheet).

Art by Joseph Toney

Factory Tuned – All Jones snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain.

Wend Natural Wax – Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax.

Super Sap Bio Resin – All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy. The raw materials used to make Super Sap Bio-Resin are co-products or waste products of other plant-based industrial processes. Producing Super Sap requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions than conventional epoxy.

ATTITUDE
TERRAIN
The Mountain Twin is our time tested directional twin designed for freestyle focused freeriders who want one board that can do it all. It’s built to shred the entire mountain like it’s a skatepark without sacrificing high-speed, line-bombing stability. Rocker tip and tail make poppin’ pillows or pressin’ boxes equally easy and give the Mountain Twin float and finesse in soft snow. Camber underfoot combined with Traction Tech give the board snap and hold carving hard pack or boosting out of the halfpipe while the Mountain Twin’s Power Core is specially profiled for unmatched torsional response between the feet.

TRACTION TECH

Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Traction Tech improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board.

Traction Tech is a critical feature for rockered boards. Rocker improves glide in mixed conditions, but the decreased edge contact makes it harder to really lock
into your turns and hold a solid edge. Traction Tech is crucial to offset the edge drift of rocker. — Jeremy Jones

TECH SPECS
HARD CORE
Jones’ signature core, the Hard Core is a hybrid wood core designed for the ultimate pop, power transfer and durability. Featherweight Poplar stringers in the middle of the core are framed with bulletproof Beech stringers under the edges to produce a core that combines the snappy, even flex of Poplar with the damp, responsive benefits of Beech. Framing the sides of the core in the Beech hardwood creates unparalleled energy transfer to your edge and helps protect the board from harsh side impacts.
SINTERED BASE
Fastest natural base material available. Durable, more resistant to impact, absorbs wax faster and retains wax longer.
CARBON STRINGERS

The all-mountain, all-terrain fun board.

Ideal For all-mountain freestyle‚slashing banks, boosting wind lips, rallying ditches, and bouncing down pillow lines. When you feel like rallying the mountain like it’s your own personal skate park, strap into the twin profile, directional flex, Mountain Twin. A progressive free-style shape with a freeride heart, the Mountain Twin is designed for the fall line creativity of Jones team rider like Jonaven Moore.

Mellow Magne-Traction

Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Magne-Traction improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board. The Flagship, Mountain Twin, and the Solution all feature a refined Magne-Traction design where the bumps are biggest between your bindings for maximum edge control and smaller outside your feet allowing you to feather your turns without catching an edge.

Why trust your life to an edge with only two contact points when Magne-Traction gives you the grip of seven points of contact?! I have gotten to the bottom of countless steep, icy faces and thanked my Magne-Traction for giving me the edge control to hold on. Magne-Traction is also a key ingredient for rockered board designs. Adding rocker to your board makes it glide more smoothly, but it makes it harder to really lock into your turns and hold a solid edge. Though Magne-Traction on full-camber boards tends to feel too locked in, once I started testing different rocker designs it was clear that Magne-Traction was crucial to offset the drift typical of rocker flex patterns.

Camrock

The Mountain Twin features CAMROCK, a unique rocker/camber flex pattern defined by evenly balanced tip and tail rocker and slight camber between the bindings. CAMROCK improves freestyle finesse by keeping your tips playful while maintaining the power and pop of camber underfoot.

Full Wood Core

Poplar core and beech. That gives the board more comfort and is more robust. The real all terrain core.

Film Topsheet

A thin piece of film replaces the traditional plastic topsheet. This eliminates plastic and reduces the weight of the board.

Flip Flop Base

By flip flopping the base graphic colors, P-tex waste is drastically reduced by increasing the material yield.

Sintered Base

Fastest natural base material available. Durable, absorbs wax faster and retains wax longer. Our sintered base added with carbon nano particules as well as additives, creates a better glide. This base is specially developed by Nidecker, and is very resistant to impact.
