I was blown away by this board. I bought it wanting a powder board that was a bit more versatile, and that's what I got. The K2 Party Platter is so much more than just a powder board.
The Party Platter is short and fat so you'd think it'd be slow edge to edge, but you'd be wrong. It feels much more narrow than it really is. I felt that it handled relatively well at speed, pretty stable. Keep in mind though that it feels very lively under foot! This board will let you know where every bump is! Not damp at all. Very good feedback. You can really feel the snow.
With carving it didn't feel very powerful, didn't throw you in to a turn at all, nor did it hold an edge well on hard pack snow. That being said it was super fun to change direction quickly and make super fast, slashy turns on any kind of softish snow. With so much rocker in the nose it was very catch free when initiating turns! Also is surprisingly decent switch on groomers due to the center stance.
I can't really say how this board is in the park because the park really isn't my thing. But with small to medium size jumps it did well, and was also super fun to pop of natural features.
Now for the best part, powder. This is where the Party Platter really shines! This board with its fat ass nose absolutely kills it in the powder!!! Effortless float!! You could practically have most of your weight (165lbs mind you) over the front foot and the still nose wouldn't dive under. And at 150cm in length it was super fun making short surfy turns in the trees!!
If your riding style is anything like mine, then the K2 Partty Platter is your one board quiver.
