TREW Eagle 2016 - 2014 Review by The Good Ride
The 2016 TREW Eagle Pant really changed from the 2015 and 2014 models. It’s still got the same look and fit but it has all new material/tech. The material is lighter and thinner which is good but the biggest deal is the breathability went from 20k to 40k which is a pretty massive bump. This is far above Gore-Tex and most high-end tech out there. So if breathability is super important to you then this is best in class for that.

Size Tried: Medium
James’ Specs:
Height: 5’10”,
Weight: 195 lbs,
Waist 33”
Hips 42”
Inseam 30”
Upper Thigh 24.5”
Middle Thigh 22”
Calves 17”
Turn On’s: Size M pants that fit well around my thighs, Riding with Friends, Open Roads, new gear and especially my wife.
Turn Off’s: M Pants that I can’t get up over my thighs, traffic, and people who can’t park inside the lines.
Fit: This felt just a touch tight around my somewhat thick upper thighs but still very wearable.
Construction: Very very well made and after 2 years of wearing it with my careful self and the not so careful Peter the pant is still intact and looking good.
Insulation/Warmth: It’s a shell with no liner but it doesn’t feel like some shell pants and has a little bit of warmth.
Waterproofing: So 20k Waterproofing with 3 layers is pretty solid. It’s a little behind high-end Gore-Tex but still pretty bomb proof.
Breathability: 20k breathability is pretty good and pretty close to Gore-Tex. I felt this pant breathe pretty well but I’ve felt other tech breathe a little better. Still no slouch by any means.
Overall: Yeah the Trew Eagle Pant is more for skiers but what a well made well thought out pant. I’m really amped on the pocket layout and feel its a great choice for someone who skis and snowboards and wants something off the beaten path.

Trew Eagle pants
I have the Eagle pants in size large and they fit good. These are a great breathable pant with lots of features. I like how the pants dont have a snap on closure for the waist. I have had a few 10 degree days on these and they arent the warmest going up on the lift, thats about the only downside I can find on these. Lots of pockets. These are just a well designed and fabricated product. If they were a little warmer I would give them 5 stars
