Burton AK 2L Embark 2014 Review by The Good Ride

The Burton AK 2L Embark Jacket is a pretty bomb proof shell with a little extra warmth in the core that might make a lot of people who see varying conditions. This has more warmth than a true shell but it’s still something that most will want to layer up with.  You just won’t have to layer up as much as you would with a shell. It’s got great waterproofing that can handle anything from rain to a ton of wind. The hood doesn’t cover all of your face but with a balaclava or other type of mask on you should be fine.  It’s got some articulation to accentuate your figure so you don’t look like Randy from Christmas story but there is also room to layer underneath.  This is a well built excellent jacket for those that want a little more exterior warmth than a shell but still want the same type of waterproofing a higher end shell can offer.
