Summary

The K2 Lineup is a binding that has an easy flex and mellow ride to it but it seems to blend well with a wide variety of boards. It's a binding that seems to have a good flex underfoot and something we'd like to test against other bindings we know and like. As it stands though it's a pretty recommendable binding.

K2 Lineup 2020 - 2019 Review by The Good Ride

Ethics Statement: We don’t get paid by the manufacturer to write these reviews.  No one is perfect and we do make money from the “Where To Buy” links below, but this is our best attempt at an honest and objective review from an average riders’ perspective.

How This Review Happened:  We borrowed this for an extended demo and then returned it.

Days:  1 this year and 1 last year.
Riders:  James (Size 9, 5’10” 185-195lbs), Peter (Size 8, 5’11” 185lbs), Zobel (Size 11.5, 6’ 180lbs)

Boards: K2 Joy Driver

Approximate Weight: Felt pretty light like most bindings we like.

Highback Flex: Pretty easy twist and a mediumish flex pulling it back.

Binding to Boot Adjustability: The K2 Lineup has great strap adjustability and you can slide in the toe ramp/gas pedal in and out to fit most boots in the size range. It isn’t perfect for centering the boot in the binding if you run small or big on the suggested sizing range but overall it’s pretty good.

Stance Width Adjustability: If you can center the K2 Lineup then you can probably get your stance width if you turn the disc sideways.

Boot Support: The toe strap felt pretty good around our boots and pulled them into the heel cup pretty well. The ankle strap gave more support than we thought but it’s more for those that like a more skaty/surfy feel that has lot’s of freedom to move. It might make your ankle feel a little exposed in harsh uneven terrain like similar bindings like this have in the past.

Ratchet System: Pretty good. Nothing great or bad. Just seems like it works.

Turn Initiation/Response: The way the K2 Lineup turned the two boards we rode it with really well. It easily turned the party platter and Joy Driver. It felt smooth and didn’t feel lacking or overpowering it either. Not sure how it would compare on more demanding boards but we like what we have seen that we would like to test it more if we ever can.

Feel Under Foot/Buttering: The boards seem to flex really naturally underfoot and we like this Tri-Pod tech going on with K2 and the Lineup. It’s a stark contrast from the Formula and we like this feel better.

Shock Absorption: Pretty damp for picking up speed but also pretty good at absorbing shock from a slow to moderate speed landing. We don’t know about going big. If one of you readers wants to go big for us and tell us many thanks. Just don’t send us a hospital bill if it goes badly.
